Există două locuri în care este definită și stocată localizarea specifică limbii.

Unul se află în directorul de instalare, unde mesajele încorporate în codul PHP sunt stocate în fișiere specifice limbii. Acestea trebuie traduse și instalate de administratorul de sistem. Abia atunci este disponibilă limba pentru interfața administrativă, pentru unele butoane de bază și mesajele încorporate văzute de participanții la sondaj. În mod normal, un dezvoltator de sondaje nu ar avea acces să editeze aceste traduceri, ci doar să le selecteze.

Cealaltă sursă de localizare specifică limbii se află în sondajele în sine. Aceste traduceri pentru fiecare sondaj constau din titlul sondajului, prezentarea generală, grupul de întrebări, întrebarea, răspunsul și textul setului de etichete. Toate aceste traduceri sunt stocate în tabele de baze de date SQL. În mod normal, un dezvoltator de sondaje trebuie să definească toate traducerile dorite pe lângă limba de bază.

Limbi pentru interfața de administrare și mesaje încorporate pentru participanții la sondaj

Ecranele sondajului public și interfața de administrare pot fi localizate astfel încât mesajele și textul încorporate să apară în limba preferată. De exemplu, „da” și „nu” ar apărea ca „ja” și „nein” în versiunea în limba germană. LimeSurvey are peste 50 de limbi diferite de mesaje încorporate deja traduse. If you want to update an existing translation, please consider contributing it for future releases (Read: Translations status). If you only update your version, remember to take care of this when you upgrade later.

Note: The template files are not currently localized and thus are language independent. Try to avoid putting text directly into the template files. Instead, put the text in other objects (e.g. questions and/or question groups) that are localized.

So far, we only discussed translating the built-in text of the administration interface that the survey participants and developers see; the part that is independent of any survey. Each survey can have one or more languages associated with it. The language of the survey can be independent of the one used in the interface. So care must be taken to offer the appropriate translations there as well.

Languages for surveys themselves

If more than one language is defined for a survey, when editing that survey (or each question, answer or label set within it), you need to make sure to add all the language translations desired. Otherwise, the default language of the survey will appear if no translation is available. This is available when editing a survey, group, question, answer set or label set.

Note: If you do not have the permission to edit label sets, you will not be able to provide the translation of that label set either. Talk to your survey administrator about either giving you the permission to edit the label set or providing the label set translation in your desired language.
