Numerazione versione

Per capire la numerazione delle versioni, ricordiamo che la versione 2.06 è stata preceduta da 1.92, 2.00 e 2.05. LimeSurvey 2.06 è il nostro "punto di partenza" in quanto è il momento in cui si è iniziato a sviluppare anche una versione LTS. Pertanto, abbiamo ora a(n):

• Versione LTS: 2.06LTS. Successivamente è stato rinominato in 2.6.x il 24 ottobre 2016. Questa versione sarà supportata fino al lancio della prossima versione LTS. Secondo questo link, la prossima versione LTS è LimeSurvey 3.x.
• versione aggiornata. La prima versione aggiornata dopo la 2.06 è stata la 2.50, rilasciata il 2 febbraio 2016. Da allora, sono state aggiunte nuove funzionalità con i rilasci di LimeSurvey 2.6xx e 2.7xx Dopo l'ultimo rilascio 2.7x, LimeSurvey 3 è stato lanciato il 22 dicembre 2017.

Differenze

Tutte e tre le versioni principali di LimeSurvey descritte di seguito utilizzano diversi motori di template. Ciò significa che un modello creato per LimeSurvey 2.06 non può essere utilizzato in LimeSurvey 2.73 o LimeSurvey 3 e un modello creato in 2.73 non può essere utilizzato in LimeSurvey 3.

Perché hai cambiato i template engine e li hai resi incompatibili?

1. LimeSurvey 2.50 (now 2.73) introduced responsive default templates, and we had to change the HTML to support this addition.
2. LimeSurvey 3 introduced a Twig template system and a template inheritance system which are not compatible with older HTML-based templates.

Please note that the Template editor was renamed in LimeSurvey 3, being called now Themes.

How to upgrade

If you wish to upgrade your installation, you can either upgrade it manually or use the ComfortUpdate.

Long-term support (LTS)

What does LTS mean for LimeSurvey? If a version is marked as being LTS, then the respective version is eligible to receive bugfixes and security updates.

At the moment, LimeSurvey 3 is a LTS release. There will not be any new features added. Check out the LimeSurvey Roadmap for information about support timelines.
