Vertalen LimeSurvey

Wilt u LimeSurvey in uw eigen taal gebruiken? Het LimeSurvey team wil graag nieuwe vertalingen ontvangen en is blij met hulp bij het verbeteren van bestaande vertalingen. Lees deze instructies en aarzel niet om bij vragen te emailen ( translations@limesurvey.org ).

Hoe te vertalen - instructies

Wijzigen van een vertaling

1. Maak een gebruikersaccount aan op onze website.
2. NB: Als je al een account hebt, log dan eerst in op onze website !
3. Ga naar onze website voor vertalingen en log in met je gebruikersnaam en wachtwoord.
4. Kies de LimeSurvey versie en taal die je wilt vertalen en begin met het vertalen. Nadat je vertaling is goedgekeurd, wordt die meegenomen in de volgende weekrelease met vermelding van je naam in de change log.
5. Als je beheerder van je taal wilt worden, met het recht / plicht om vertalingen te beoordelen, neem dan contact met ons op ( translations@limesurvey.org ). Dit kost je maximaal een uur per week.

Wijzigen van een vertaalde tekst

Soms wil je een al vertaalde tekst wijzigen om die te verbeteren.:

1. Ga naar http://translate.limesurvey.org, kies de versie en de taal.
2. Onderaan de pagina kun je alle teksten exporteren naar je PC in een po-bestand.
   
3. Download en installeer poEDIT
4. Start poEdit en wijzig de benodigde vertalingen in het gedownloade po-bestand.
5. Als je het po-bestand met poEdit opslaat, laat dan een mo-bestand aanmaken. LimeSurvey gebruikt dit mo-bestand.
6. Verplaats het mo-bestand naar de goede map (taal) /locale door de bestaande vertaling te overschrijven.
   Voorbeeld : voor Frans is de map /locale/fr/LC_MESSAGES/fr.po

NB.: Als je LimeService gebruikt zal de webhost het bestand voor je willen plaatsen. Maak een support ticket aan en voeg het po-bestand toe, niet het mo-bestand.

Creating a new translation

1. First of all get access to the development version of LimeSurvey. You can find detailed instructions how to get your hands on it on this page: Accessing the source code
2. Download and install poEDIT
3. Now you have to find out the language-code for your language - you can search for your language-code in the IANA Language Subtag Registry.
4. Go to the /locale directory and create a directory named after your language code.
5. Download the language template file from http://www.limesurvey.org/translationstatus/limesurvey.pot and rename it to <your_language_code>.po.
6. Save the (yet) empty file to that dir (in the /locale/your_language_code/ folder).
7. Now open the file with poEdit and translate everything you need to translate.
8. To make LimeSurvey know about your language you must add it to the file application/helpers/surveytranslator_helper.php. Open that file with a text editor and add your language in the same way the other languages in that file are defined.
9. Save - make sure that beside the .po file also the binary .mo file is created (that's the one LimeSurvey is reading from).
10. Send the new .po-File and the updated surveytranslator_helper.php file to translations@limesurvey.org . If you want your name to be linked from/shown on the team-page please write so in the e-mail!
11. If you are adding an uncommon language, it may also be necessary to add the language to Yii. If Yii does not have a CLDR file for the language, the survey will give an error "Locale not recognized." when opening the survey in the new language. Navigate to framework/i8n/data and look for your language code. If you do not find it, you will need to create a new CLDR file for the language.
